Machine Regulations This is Classic orientated road racing, for machine of the style and type used up to the cut off date of 1983 (when the 50cc ceased to be a GP class). Any engine prior to this date is eligible, the only engine that is eligible after this date is the early Aprilla 50cc engine, this is very much a P6 derived power unit. However, the top end of this power unit (water cooled, reed valve) is not eligible. Honda RS125 chassis and those used by more modern bikes ie Derbi, Cagiva, Reiju etc are not allowed, as these do not fit our time frame. The HONDA Dream type 50cc bike is eligible to race in our Classic 50 Championship as they are deemed to be of the style and spirit of our 50cc class The KAWASAKI AR50 is acceptable within these regulations Brakes: Twin pot/ piston Disc Brakes are permitted Wheels:

with a maximum tolerance of 5%. Due to some of the older machines needing re-bores, or a mixture of parts to keep them in running order, a greater tolerance may be allowed, but this must be agreed by the Committee prior to racing. Within the Formula 50 Series there are separate classes for Open (air or water cooled) Air Cooled, 4-Stroke and Pre 1970. If any clarification is required on engine, chassis, etc, contact one of the Committee to ensure that you are building an eligible machine. Machines that do not follow these rules will not be allowed to race in Formula 50 events. Technical Committee: Steve Bedford
